Baring Asset Management (Barings), the international investment management firm, has appointed Tom Mann as an investment manager in its International and World Equities team. He will report to David Bertocchi, Head of International and World Equities and is based in London.

Tom has more than 13 years of experience in the fund management industry and joins Barings from Aberdeen Asset Management in London where he was an Investment Manager in the European Equities team. Between 2001 and 2009, he was with Credit Suisse Asset Management in the European and EAFE Equities team. Prior to this, he was Head of Equity Portfolio Analytics at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Barings’ International and World Equities team uses an investment approach that links top-down and bottom-up insights. The team draws on the top-down asset allocation views of the Strategic Policy Group and integrates these views with the bottom-up stock selection ideas of its forty-member Global Sector Teams using a number of proprietary portfolio construction tools. The team manages more than £2.8billion in world and international equities for retail and institutional clients.
