Hong Kong commission consults on proposal for short position reporting

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has launched a consultation of its proposed reporting of short selling positions
Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has launched a public consultation of the proposal to introduce reporting of short positions.
Under the proposed regime, beneficial owners who hold a short position that breaks the threshold of 0.02% of the issued share capital of a listed company or a market value of $30m, will have to report to the SFC on a weekly basis.
